Nobody SpOke AbouT Malays or Dayaks Rights, Voon
State Assemblyman for Batu Lintang, Voon Lee Shan had lodged a third report against six BN State Assemblyman this morning at Central Police station.
Voon claimed that after his debate speech in the recent DUN, he was accused of saying something seditious by a group of BN state Assemblymen who lodged reports against him.
He alleged that he feared for his and his family’s safety and claimed that he was being followed.
This morning, Voon was accompanied by DAP, PAS and PKR members said he wanted police to take action against the six by searching their homes for evident.
“I cannot say what they had said as they had already deemed it seditious. I want the police to take action against them and charged them under the Seditious Act,” he said to reporters after lodging the police report.
Voon said so far, no one had offered to help the Malays or the Dayaks to speak on their rights in the DUN or Parliament.
“And as I have been asked to do so and I am being accused of saying something seditious. They (BN) have twisted my words and they are saying something seditious instead,” he added.
On his two previous reports made against the BN state Assemblymen, Voon said he had already given his statements to the police and that he would follow up with them on the latest.
He urged the people who wanted to fight for the rights of the Malays and the Dayaks to stand behind him as he was worried for his safety.
“Let us stand together to fight for justice,” he added. Sarawak Update

Let the law takes its course.
As I can see it, the seditious tendency in issue here is a tendency to promote feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Malaysia as defines under Section 3(1)(e) of Seditious Act, 1948 (Act 15) and the two offences were alleged to have been committed are:-
i. utters any seditious words u/s 4(1)(b) of the same Act (based on report lodged by BN assemblymen against YB Voon),
ii. prints or publishes any seditious publication u/s 4(1)(c) of the same Act (based on report lodged by YB Voon against state BN assemblymen).
If it is true that YB Voon uttered any seditious words during DUN meeting, then in my opinion, it was an offence u/s4(1)(c) of Seditious Act for anyone who published or caused it to be published the seditious words.
We had one case before where licences of some newspapers were suspended and revoked by the authority for printing and publishing the controversial cartoons of the Prophet that enraged the Muslims.
I am sure the police is investigating the reports lodged by both parties and the final say is the Public Prosecutor whether to institute legal proceedings or otherwise depending on the evidence and circumstances of each case.
