Voon Lodged Report against Masing
A police report was lodged against Land Development Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. James Masing Jemut to state clearly what he had said in the DUN during his winding up speech last Thursday.
Voon said a local newspaper reported that “Masing, the President of Parti Rakyat Sarawak, said it was not true that the Malays in Sarawak had suppressed the Dayaks as alleged by Voon in his debate on Nov 11. It would not be right for him to use racial issue to gain political mileage”.
In his police report, Voon said he wanted to make it clear that he never once said the Malay in Sarawak had suppressed the Dayaks as alleged in the said publication, which, he deemed as highly defamatory because he never said those words in the Debate speech on that day.
The words, he said published in the local papers are totally false, malicious, defamatory and tantamount to disparage my creidtibilty.
Second these words my have a seditious tendency to incite the Malays and the Dayaks in Sarawak to breach public peace and public order.
Third, it may have a tendency to incite and create hostility against me from the Malays and Dayaks in Sarawak.
The publication or words used therein had caused mental injury and agony to me and I am affected by the said untrue allegations and I fear for my family and mine safety.
Voon said he wanted the police to carry out the investigation under the Penal Code, the Sedition Act 1948 and the Internal Security Act 1960 and that the police should take necessary action to protect him and his family.
Sarawak Update
- November 22nd

Fair and square. Who and who is actually breaking the laws?
Laws are meant for the protection of the whole society and have to be obeyed by all citizens irrespective of class.
We leave it to the police to investigate. As a law enforcement agency, the police has to enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favour and not taking side.
Dear sir,
Can’t blame anybody but our past and present leaders. It was not the Malayans nor the Sabahans but the Sarawakians are to be blamed. What happened from 1963 to now? No dayak MP ever brought the matter up, until Marina’s story came about. For 46 years, who cared? Nobody.
Please just take the right actions to correct the shortcomings. Actions, not words, can put things right, making all Sarawakians born in Sarawak as natives , as what the White Rajahs wanted us to be, for peace and prosperity.
